Understand payment statuses
Check whether an invoice has been paid, is still waiting, or needs your attention.
Open Payments → Invoices to find a payment request by its title or reference and check its status. For a customer wallet deposit, use Wallets → Customer deposits instead.

Invoice statuses
| Status | What to check |
|---|---|
| Awaiting payment | The payment request is waiting for payment. Check the expiry and that the customer is using its checkout instructions. |
| Paid | The invoice's payment requirement has been met. Check its details if you need to reconcile the order. |
| Underpaid | The amount received is short. Read the invoice details and the remaining amount shown by checkout. |
| Overpaid | More than the required amount arrived. Your checkout overpayment policy determines how excess is handled. |
| Expired | The payment window has ended. Inspect any funds received and create a new invoice when another request is needed. |
| Cancelled | The payment request was canceled. Check whether any funds had already arrived. |
| Failed | The payment request failed. Open its details and contact support if the reason is unclear. |
An invoice's status and a transaction's confirmation progress answer different questions. A transaction appearing in a wallet or explorer does not mean your invoice has reached Paid.
A customer says they paid
- Ask for the transaction hash, coin, and network.
- Find the invoice or customer deposit in your dashboard.
- Check that the destination, coin, network, and amount match the payment instructions.
- Check the status and confirmations before fulfilling the order.
If the payment still cannot be matched, open a support ticket with the invoice ID and transaction hash.
Refunds and excess payments
Use Payments → Refunds to follow money returned to payers. Read the invoice and checkout details before promising an automatic refund; an expired or overpaid status alone does not prove a refund has completed.
For an automated integration, fulfill using the confirmed event appropriate to the product, such as invoice.paid. Webhooks describes confirmation and reversal events.
